Prayer for the Cancellation of Divorce
"This is what the Lord God says: 'It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.'"
Isaiah 7:7
God, in Isaiah 7:7 You said, 'It shall not stand, neither shall it happen' — and that is the word I am standing on over every paper, every threat, and every plan to end this marriage. It shall not stand. Jesus said in Matthew 19:6 that what God has joined together, let no one tear apart, so I am declaring that no man, no woman, no lawyer, no court, and no season of anger has the authority to separate what You joined. Malachi 2:16 says, 'I hate divorce,' says the Lord — so I know I am not praying against Your will right now. I am praying with it. Every assignment to dissolve my covenant, I resist it in the name of Jesus.
Cancel it, Lord. Job 22:28 says you will decree a thing and it will be established for you, so I decree the cancellation of every divorce proceeding, every document, and every conversation moving in that direction — and I decree restoration standing in its place. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says a threefold cord is not quickly broken, and this marriage was never just two people — it was two people and You. So hold the cord that I cannot hold by myself right now. Isaiah 54:10 says the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but His loving kindness will not depart and His covenant of peace will not be removed. Psalm 127:1 says unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain — so build this house back, God, because I have tried and I cannot do it with my own hands. I am not signing my agreement to what the enemy is trying to finalize. In Jesus' name, amen.
Declarations
I decree that what God has blessed cannot be reversed, because Numbers 23:20 says, 'I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.' Isaiah 44:25 says He frustrates the signs of liars, makes diviners mad, turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish. Every strategy built against my covenant, I decree it is frustrated. Psalm 33:10 says the Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing and makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
I speak life over this marriage, because Psalm 118:17 says, 'I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.' This marriage is not dying — it is going to live and it is going to testify. Ezekiel 37:5 says God spoke to dry bones and said, 'Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you will live.' I speak breath into every dead place in my home, and I speak that what looks finished is about to stand up.
I come into agreement with Matthew 16:19, which says whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven — so I bind every spirit of division and I release reconciliation over my home. Jeremiah 32:27 says, 'Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?' Nothing about my situation is too hard for God. I come into agreement that this is already settled in heaven, no matter what is still moving on earth.
I declare that God is doing a new thing, because Isaiah 43:19 says, 'Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.' Hosea 2:15 says He will make the valley of Achor a door of hope — the valley of trouble is being turned into a doorway. Joel 2:25 says, 'I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten.' I declare restoration over every year this thing has cost me, and I am not walking away from what God said He would rebuild.
Pray This All Day
"It shall not stand, neither shall it happen."
