Prayer Against Rejection
"For the Lord has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off, says your God."
Isaiah 54:6
God, I have been refused by the one person who promised he never would, and it has done something to me that I do not know how to fix. Isaiah 54:6 says the Lord has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, a wife of youth when she is cast off. You already know exactly what this feels like, and You called me anyway. Isaiah 53:3 says Jesus was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with grief — so I am not bringing this to somebody who cannot relate. You were rejected too. Psalm 27:10 says when my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up, and I am asking You to take me up right now, because I feel put down.
Now break the thing that came in with it. A spirit of rejection has been talking to me — telling me I am not enough, not wanted, not worth staying for — and I am renouncing every word of it in the name of Jesus. Ephesians 1:6 says He has made us accepted in the Beloved, so I refuse to build my worth on whether one man chose me, when God already accepted me. Hebrews 13:5 says, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you,' and Deuteronomy 31:6 says He will not fail you or forsake you — so even if everybody else walks, You do not. Psalm 3:3 says, 'But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.' Lift my head, God. I am not going to spend another day with it down. In Jesus' name, amen.
Declarations
I decree that what was refused is being repurposed, because Psalm 118:22-23 says the stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. 1 Peter 2:4 says he was rejected by men, but chosen by God and precious. Man's rejection has never once cancelled God's selection. Isaiah 41:9 says, 'You are my servant. I have chosen you and not cast you away.' I decree that I am chosen and I have not been cast away.
I speak shame off of me, because Isaiah 54:4 says, 'Don't be afraid, for you will not be ashamed. Don't be confounded, for you will not be disappointed.' Psalm 34:5 says those who look to him are radiant, and their faces will never be covered with shame. I speak that my face is lifted and my shame is lifted with it. Romans 8:35-39 says nothing can separate us from the love of Christ — not trouble, not distress, not anything present or anything to come.
I come into agreement with Psalm 139:14, which says I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. My value was set before anybody had an opinion about me. 1 Samuel 16:7 says man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. I come into agreement with what God sees in me over what has been said about me.
I declare that I am precious to God, because Isaiah 43:4 says, 'Since you have been precious and honored in my sight, and I have loved you.' Zephaniah 3:19 says, 'I will get them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth' — the very place I was shamed is the place God says He will bring praise. Psalm 30:5 says weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning. I declare that my morning is coming, and I am not going to miss it because I let rejection convince me I was not worth staying for.
